Lava R3 Note is released in Bangladesh for the low to low-mid range smartphone users. The phone focuses on some advanced camera features, offers a large trendy display, strives to deliver satisfactory performance and battery backup. Let us go a bit into the details in this short review. The device comes with a MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. For those who are more familiar with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset should know that it is a competitor of Snapdragon 450. Helio P22 has higher CPU speed and the power consumption is less thus it will provide better battery backup as well than Snapdragon 450. But GPU of Snapdragon 450 is better. So, the graphics-related programs will perform a little lower compared to the other one. If GPU or high graphics gaming is more important for you, look for a Snapdragon 450 chipset phone like Xiaomi Redmi S2 or even a Snapdragon 625 chipset phone like Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite with higher price. But, Lava R3 Note is still offering very competitive and strong performance considering the price factor. The display is a huge 6.22-inch trendy 19:9 ratio (88.3% screen to body ratio) notch screen. The display quality is HD+. So, if big display and decent quality are important to you, this is a reasonable choice. The illusion blue color model will also provide a gradient back side with fine color changing and contrast that looks somewhat elegant and premium. Plus, the “night mode” is a great feature which will reduce the harmful blue light of the display at night. It means your eyes will be more protected and the reading or viewing experience will be more comfortable at night. You can also set automatic night mode for example from 7 pm till 5 am every day. But the display is not protected by e.g., a Gorilla Glass and the body is made of plastic which are some disadvantages regarding the display and design. The camera sounds pretty average in this price range with a 13 MP single back camera and 8 MP single front camera. The special feature is portrait light in both cameras. You can have different toning, contrasts and environment with different lighting modes. There is also a screen flash for the front camera and dual-LED flash for the back camera which will further improve the lighting condition. But the details, colors, dynamic range are very ordinary and you will see a lot of noise so, we consider the camera quality pretty average. 3 GB RAM, Face ID, fingerprint, dual SIM, dedicated MicroSD slot are some of its strong positives. However, a 32 GB ROM instead of 16 GB could be much fitting here. We also couldn’t find any official info about OTG support.
